Cosm is the 3rd Anvil Hands record since 2008. Always in search of a new golden sound, the style has evolved over the years yet remains recognizable to Anvil Hands. A revised sonic palette is used more sparingly in comparison to the sample-indulgent breakbeat sounds of earlier works. While much of the excess has been cut away, the space makes way for expansive, textured environments. The percussion is built from every day sounds, EQ'ed and manipulated for a certain aquatic feel that remains constant throughout the album. A torrent of glitched arpeggios, distant vocal layers and thick sub bass, Cosm is lush, colorful, and inventive in its approach. With a run time of just over 20 minutes, the record aims to catch the attention of the ever-distracted listener and to captivate with constant shifts and swells in the flow of sound.
